Like many automakers, Porsche is recalculating its plans around electrification; an electric-intensive lineup now doesn’t seem ideal as consumers continue to adapt to EVs. Porsche has great all-electric models in its lineup, with a new Cayenne EV arriving very soon, but for now its focus is on deciding how gasoline and hybrid power will fit into its future. That’ll influence the Macan and Cayenne but also shape potential forthcoming SUV models beyond 2026.

2026 Porsche Macan

This will be the final year of production for the gas-powered Macan. Introduced for the 2015 model year, Porsche’s original compact SUV is getting old, and the automaker needs to make way for the new Macan EV to fill that space—for now. The Macan carries over unchanged from 2025 and will be discontinued at the end of 2026.

2026 Porsche Macan EV

Although the Macan EV looks the same as last year, it gains useful in-vehicle features for 2026. Leave the fob behind—Apple and Android devices now provide phone-as-key functionality. The on-route charge-planning system adds network filtering options, and gaming for the infotainment helps pass time while plugged in. Porsche’s AI voice assistant expands to manage more functions, and the parking assist system can now retrace routes in forward and reverse.

Mechanically, the towing capacity of AWD models increases from 4,400 pounds to 5,500 pounds. Additionally, new personalization options for the door sill plates become available.

2026 Porsche Cayenne

Porsche’s staple luxury midsize SUV gets minor updates for 2026. The Cayenne is newly equipped with improved USB-C charging ports that can deliver up to 60 watts of power. A four-year in-car data connectivity plan is now included, along with a 10-year subscription to Porsche Connect, which provides digital services and other ownership functions through a mobile app. An Amazon Alexa digital assistant is now built in, and Dolby Atmos tech gets added to the optional Bose and Burmester premium audio systems.

2026 Porsche Cayenne EV

An all-electric interpretation of the Cayenne is almost here. The Cayenne EV will be built on a different platform and otherwise share little with gas and hybrid models, which will remain in production—but the electric Cayenne will lead the way in tech innovation and high performance. Features like a curved touchscreen display and active aero blades will be equipped on models with power ranging from about 500 to nearly 1,000 hp. Regardless, every Cayenne EV will have a 108-kWh battery with super-fast charging capability, along with available wireless charging for the high-voltage battery. Expect the 2026 Porsche Cayenne EV to be revealed soon, with a stylish coupe model to follow.

2027 Porsche Three-Row SUV

Rumors indicate that Porsche is working on an SUV sized above the Cayenne. This unnamed vehicle would offer three rows of seats and be Porsche’s largest. Likely built on a combustion-based platform shared with the forthcoming Audi Q9, the Porsche three-row would probably offer electrified hybrid engines but no all-electric powertrain. Expect it to follow Porsche’s customary approaches to design, luxury, and performance.

2028 Porsche Small SUV

Replacing the popular Macan with the all-electric Macan EV has caused a bit of backlash against Porsche. Some drivers chafed at the higher starting price and the notion of having to go electric. The automaker may respond by introducing a new combustion-based small SUV around 2028. Although it might not be called the Macan, this vehicle will serve a similar purpose in Porsche’s lineup. Hybrid powertrains will likely be available.
